ISTF Project # 04-1116 was developed in response to the 2004-2005 Internet science and Technology Fair. NCT (National Critical Technology): Communication and Information Sub-category: Physical Devices Specific Technology Application: Biosensors When throat cancer patients undergo a laryngectomy, they are left with a large hole in their throat that allows bacteria and other infectious diseases to enter the trachea. Our device will be placed over the hole to minimize the amount of bacteria through the use of a biosensor.  |
