When we started off with this project, everybody in the group did not really know each other. Since we all come fromdifferent towns in the high school we attend, learning to get along with people was the key to success. Through our hard work and common goal of developing a very innovative product, we were able to bond. The strength of our team was our ability to divide work up evenly to get it done. Our teacher also helped us a great deal by helping us brainstorm possible layouts for our voting machine and encouraging us to find a technical advisor after 4 failed attempts. The project could never have been finished without everyone’s input.

In the process of creating a new voting system to introduce to the public, our team learned a lot about researching and creating a solution to a real world problem. We learned that it is not so easy to think of an invention that will actually work in real life. It is a long process that involves hard work and talking with experts in the field you are focusing on. You cannot be discouraged by a couple of unanswered emails. Inventing a new machine requires a lot of determination and perseverance if the machine is ever to be a success.

There are many lessons that we have learned while working on this project. One of these lessons are that the voting system is not as simple as it appears on the surface. It takes more than just pushing a button to make the system work.We also learned that just because someone is a professional in their field doesn’t mean that they won’t take the time to help children and answer their questions.Lastly, if you need the help of a third party, send your request as early as possible. Otherwise, you may not get a response until it is too late.
